Philadelphia: It is good to have baseball back and there is a certain buzz about this Philadelphia Phillies team just how they looked in the first two games of the season and on Sunday they would go for the series sweep of the Atlanta Braves from Citizens Bank Park in South Philadelphia.
Lineups:
Phillies:
Braves:
The Phillies would send Zach Eflin to the mound going against Ian Anderson. The Phillies would get the scoring started in the 2nd inning as Andrew Knapp would launch one into right field for the 1-0 lead.
Zach Eflin would be the story of the game as he controlled the Braves hitters through 6 innings and the Braves were able to get to Eflin in the top of the 7th as Travis d’Arnaud blasted one to left field which tied the game at 1.
The Phillies would respond to the score from the Braves as they retook the lead in the 8th inning on RBI Single by Alec Bohm that scored Rhys Hoskins for 2-1 lead
Hector Neris came in and closed the door as the Phillies won the game 2-1 & sweep the Braves to start the season. This is what everyone expected from the Phillies is to get off to a very good start and the bullpen did their job and also the starting pitching was on point.
Zach Eflin went 7 innings, 4 hits, 1 run, 8 strikeouts on 80 pitches
Phillies Manager Joe Girardi would explain the winning hit by Alec Bohm
What is Next:
After taking down the Braves to start the season, the Phillies will now get ready to take on the New York Mets as they come into Citizens Bank Park on April 5-7.
