Philadelphia: After taking two or three from the San Diego Padres, the Philadelphia Phillies would return home to open a weekend series against the Cincinnati Reds on Friday night at Citizens Bank Park in South Philadelphia.
The Phillies would take down the Reds 4-2 & here are some of my takeaways from the game
Zach Eflin performance:
Zach Eflin will get the start for the Phillies and he had some good stuff early on and what have a couple Innings wear it would be a 1-2-3 shutdown inning.
Eflin would go 6.1 Innings, 6 strikeouts, 2 runs, 4 hits on 95 pitches
Jay Bruce does it again:
This game would mark the home debut of Jay Bruce who the Phillies acquired in a trade last week from the Seattle Mariners
First at bat at home for Bruce:
In the fifth inning with the Phillies down one nothing Jay Bruce would come up and he was a blast a two-run home run to give the Phillies the lead
Tom McCarthy on NBC 10
Crowd reaction:
Hector Neris closes the door:
what the Phillies leading 4- 2 in the ninth inning, Hector Neris would come in and he would close the door to get the win and the save
The attendance that was announced in the stadium was 32,058
The Phillies will look to take game 2 of this weekend series on Saturday at 4 p.m.
