Philadelphia: As everyone knows in any game, especially in the playoffs, there are going to be those moments that you do something terrible that can hurt your team but later on save the day & that is what we had in Game 3 of the NLCS on Friday night as the Philadelphia Phillies took on the San Diego Padres from Citizens Bank Park.
Phillies Jean Segura would have one of the craziest nights for a player in the playoffs, it started in the 4th with a costly error that got the Padres on the board
Later in the game, Segura would redeem himself with a huge RBI which gave the Phillies the lead
A few minutes after getting the big it, Segura would get picked off at first to end the inning.
Later in the game, Segura would make an amazing defensive play to end the 7th inning and stop any attempt by the padres to get back in the game
Following the game, Segura would talk about the Error he made & said “This game is about the mental part. At the end of the day, we’re going to make a mistake. That’s the play that I probably made 3,000 times in my life, but for some reason I missed it.
As a player, you learn from your mistake, and you never put your head down. Just keep it up, continue to play the game because you don’t know how the game’s going to end. Maybe that play can affect you through the game.
So just it’s part of the game. When you make a mistake, just keep going forward.”
Later on he was asked about his 2 run RBI which gave the Phillies the 3-1 lead in the 4th
The Phillies now lead the series 2-1 & will look to add more pressure on San Diego as they play Game 4 on Saturday.
