Once again, the Phillies are blowing whatever chances they have

Philadelphia: We are getting close to the finish line as the Philadelphia Phillies are hanging around but at times they just can not make the move to jump back into first place in the NL East.

The Phillies would waste another chance to makeup ground on the Braves in the NL with a 6-3 loss to the Cubs on Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park and now are 4.5 games back.

During Phillies Postgame Live, Ricky Bottalico would go off on this team as they have failed at taking any opportunities to do some damage.

With the way the Phillies have been playing over the last couple of weeks, it has been very frustrating and at times has this team given up or feel like they don’t have what it takes to make some serious noise.

Back in the first week of August the Phillies had a 8 game winning streak which saw the take first place from the New York Mets and since then they have not been able to play consistent baseball and show the city and rest of MLB that they can be a team that you don’t want to face down the stretch.

There is 18 games left & can the Phillies have that 1 final effort to catch the Braves as this could come down to the final day of the season which is October 3.

If the Phillies continue on this rate they are going , it will be another year that there will be no Playoff baseball at Citizens Bank Park, it has been 2011 that there was Red October in South Philadelphia.

One of the caller on 94.1 WIP said that if the Phillies wanted to stay relevant in the month of September they need to start winning or they would be an after fact with the Eagles season in full gear after the Eagles beat the Falcons this past Sunday.

Are the Phillies wasting the talents of Bryce Harper, JT Realmuto, Zack Wheeler by the way the rest of the team is playing, will see what this team is made of if they have what it takes to make these final 18 games interesting. What can Manager Joe Girardi do to get the fire going with this team.
