Philadelphia: As the month of November comes to an end, the madness that is the NFC East is still confusing and wide open, the Philadelphia Eagles stand at 3-6-1 as they took on the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night from Lincoln Financial Field in South Philadelphia.
The Eagles would fall to Seahawks 23-17 and couple things stood out in this loss
The Play of Carson Wentz:
Coming into the game, there were questions if Coach Doug Pederson was going to Bench Carson Wentz for Jalen Hurts, well that did not happen, Wentz got off to a very slow start, sacked 6 times and threw a very costly INT late in the 4th quarter.
Wentz would throw two touchdowns to Dallas Goedert & threw a jump ball to Richard Rodgers which did not have any effect.
Dallas Goedert TD
Richard Rodgers Hail Mary catch
One of the bright spots in this game was the Eagles Defense would make some big stops, especially stopping the Seahawks on their first two drives of the game on 4th down, the first one being from the Eagles 3 yard line & then the second one came from Eagles 37 & both plays were made by Derek Barnett
1st stop on 4th down
The Second stop by the Eagles Defence on 4th down
DK Metcalf burns the Eagles
Oh what could have been if the Eagles drafted DK Metcalf but they went afterJJ Arcega-Whiteside and Metcalf make the Eagles play by going 10 catches for 177 yards and at the same time burning Darius Slay.
One of the 10 catches by Metcalf
Following the game, Darius Slay came out saying this was one of the worst games he has ever played and later posted an apology to the Eagles fans for his performance tonight
Now the question is where do the Eagles go from here and have the players gave up on the season, does Doug Pederson bench Wentz for Jalen Hurts.
Doug Pederson was asked about why they are making these costly mistakes 12 weeks into the season
“I mean, it just comes down to each guy just doing his job and not doing too much. Sometimes when you get in these situations, you try to do too much. It’s just a matter of not chasing plays but making the plays when they come to you. We’re going to continue to work, and we’re not going to make excuses for anything. We’ve got another ballgame here in a couple of days, and we’ve got to get some of this corrected and move on”
Following the game, Carson Wentz would open up about his frustration
There are a lot of questions that just need answers for and right now most of the blame for why the Eagles are bad is on GM Howie Roseman for not getting the players to build around Carson Wentz, you can also put the blame on Doug Pederson for his choice of play calls and also not having a real offensive coordinator to call the plays, is Doug Pederson losing his touch when calling the plays.
Now the next question is will the Eagles be able to win another game before the season, will soon get that answer as they take on the Green Bay Packers on Sunday from Lambeau Field in Green Bay at 4:25 PM on CBS.
