Philadelphia: The bright lights of NBC Sunday Night Football came to Lincoln Financial Field for an NFC East battle as the Philadelphia Eagles took on the Dallas Cowboys. As we both know the NFC East is one of the worst divisions in the NFL but the Eagles lead the division at 2-4-1 while the Cowboys are 2-5.
Here are some thoughts on the Eagles 23-9 win over the Cowboys
In this game Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz just did not look like himself tonight looked off especially two interceptions and two fumbles as the cowboys defense came up with the plays that were needed. On the positive side, Wentz had two touchdown passes to Travis Fulgham and Jalen Reagor. Following the game, Wentz gave his overall assessment of his performance tonight & through the first 8 games of the season
“I’m not good enough. I’m pumped we got the win, but I’m going to have to watch the tape and I’m a little frustrated with how I played and how we’ve left some plays out there, left some points out there, and missed some big opportunities. I can be better. I know I will be. I would say the same thing for this far in the season. I’m pumped that we’re at the top of our division, that we’re heading into this bye week, but halfway through the year I know I can play better and a lot of it’s just coming down to taking care of the football. I feel like I’m still the same aggressive guy that’s going to pull the trigger and I never want to change that. But it’s about being smart and putting it in the right spot.”
The Eagles 2020 first round pick wide receiver Jalen Reagor will play his first home game after being out since week two with a thumb injury and he will score his first NFL touchdown
Travis Fulgham is for real:
Since the Eagles picked up Travis Fulgham off waivers, he has been coming up huge and also scoring touchdowns and he did that tonight which gave the Eagles the lead late in the 3rd quarter for a 15-9 lead.
The Eagles Defense would hold the Cowboys out of the end zone and forced them to 3 field goals, Eagles also did that in their week 16 of the 2019 season which Eagles won 17-9.
Eagles Defense ices game with fumble for touchdown:
With under 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter with the Eagles up 15-9, defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz would bring the house as TJ Edwards would sack Ben DiNucci and in the process would fumble the ball and Rodney McLeod would pick it up and run it back for a 53-yard touchdown
Even though this was not one of their better performances but a win is a win and that’s what the Eagles did as they took down the Cowboys 23 to 9 and now remain in first place. The defense played good and made the big defensive play which resulted in touchdown, the offense was not in since but was able to move the ball.
Final Numbers:

Eagles Coach Doug Pederson said after the game that of course they can play better but turnovers have been shooting them in the foot Where things stand in NFC East
Here is where things stand in the NFC East following the win over the Cowboys
