Report: Sixers Hire Former Saint Joe’s star Jameer Nelson

Philadelphia: It’s been a couple weeks since the Sixers hired Doc Rivers as the new head coach & general manager Elton Brand has been making changes to the front office and looks like he made another move that fans would like.

On Tuesday report came down that the Sixers are going to hire former Former Saint Josephs star Jameer Nelson to the front office

This is a great move for the Sixers as they bring in a local product & the fans know about Nelson.

Jameer Nelson was part of the 2003-04 Saint Joseph’s Hawks team that finished the regular season undefeated & made it to the Elite 8 before falling to Oklahoma State. Nelson would get names the 2004 Player of the year throughout college basketball.

Even though Jameer Nelson never played for the Sixers he’s a local product and knows the rich basketball history that Philadelphia has.

Jameer Nelson got drafted by Orlando in the first round with the 20th pick in 2004 NBA Draft, Played 17 year in the NBA, played 10 of 17 years with Orlando, 3 with Denver with stops in Dallas, New Orleans, Detroit & Boston.

Played in 878 games, started 639, scored 11.3 PPG

with his role with the Sixers, Nelson would be a scout & would be an assistant GM with the Delaware Blue Coast who are the Sixers G-league affiliates
