Pennsylvania is OUT of Red Zone, What is the Status of Sports & Concerts Stand

Harrisburg PA: June 5 is a big day for the State of Pennsylvania as Governor Tom Wolf would announce that all 67 Pennsylvania counties are either in the yellow or green phase of reopening

During his Press Conference on Friday on where the state stands with their fight on Coronavirus, Governor Tom Wolf was asked if things have changed with Professional Sports & College Sports about having people in the stands for the games

Back on May 27, Governor Wolf said that Professional Sports can resume training  and play games in the Yellow & Green Phase of the reopening, also sent out guidelines to make it happen

On June 1, Dr. Levine was asked about Student-Athletes in College & High School

NASCAR is going to be coming to Pocono on June 25-28 and do it with no fans

MLB is currently still in negotiations with MLBPA about if they will even start their 2020 Regular season

The NFL has been selling tickets for the upcoming season and back on May 9, Ticketmaster which is the partner of the NFL for selling tickets sent out a policy if fans can not be in the stadium

“We’re working closely with the NFL and the teams to ensure that we keep fans updated. Due to the continually evolving situation, the NFL or teams may decide to reschedule, postpone or cancel events, in which case fans will be promptly notified.

Full refunds will be available if the NFL or the team cancels a game and it cannot be replayed, or if it is played under conditions that prohibit fans from attending. If a game is postponed or rescheduled, your tickets are valid for the new date, so hang onto them and we will keep you posted. The NHL & NBA will be resuming their season from a neutral site with No Fans

MLS will resume their season with No Fans and have an in-season tournament in Orlando

The NCAA Football programs in the state of Pennsylvania have not made their decision if they will have fans in their stadiums or talked about refund policy for the games

The National Lacrosse League has decided to Cancel the remainder of their 2019-20 season on JUne 4

Back on May 11, the American Hockey League would cancel the remainder of the 2019-20 season, there are 3 AHL teams in the state of PA (Lehigh Valley Phantoms, Hershey Bears & Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins)

What about Horse Racing?? On May 29, I asked Governor Wolf  about this topic and the PA  Department of Health said the following

“Horse racing is among professional sports allowed to practice or play in the yellow and green phases of reopening without on-site or venue spectators if the organization has developed a COVID-19 safety plan. Such a plan must be approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and include, among other requirements, testing or screening and monitoring of all on-venue players and personnel. Also, no fans or spectators may be permitted on interior or exterior venue property. Reopening plans should be submitted to the PA  Department of Health.

The review of safety protocols by the Horse Racing Commission is in progress. They will be provided when the review is complete and protocols are final.”

What about attending Concerts? Back on May 28, I asked Governor Wolf if people could attend any concerts in the state of PA in 2020

For counties in the green phase of the Governor’s reopening plan, large gatherings of more than 250 are prohibited. As we move forward, the administration will continue to evaluate guidelines and orders to ensure that public health and safety are protected.”
