Toronto: When it comes to the playoffs,  you ever know what is going to happen and the ups and downs that come with it especially if the game heads into overtime with the series on the line.

Let’s go back to May 4, 2004, as the Philadelphia Flyers took on the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 6 of the Eastern Semifinals from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. The Flyers lead the series 3-2.

The Flyers would lead 2-0 through 2 periods and looking to end the series in regulation but Toronto would not go away as they scored 2 goals in the 3rd to send the game into overtime.

As everyone knows the drama that comes with playoff overtime, you never know what is going to happen and a lot of emotions that come with it. The Flyers would take advantage of it as Jeremy Roenick comes down the right side and launch a rocket past goalie Ed Belfor to send the Flyers to the East Conference Finals.

Boxscore:
Flyers Maple Leafs 2004 Game 6

The Flyers would head to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000 as they took on the Tampa Bay Lightning and they would fall in 7 games.

This 2004 Flyers team would have a lot of fun and moments that fans will always remember & at the same time brought the City on an exciting run to follow what happened earlier in 2004 with the Eagles making Super Bowl 39.
