Philadelphia: During any player draft there are going to be selections that are going to have fans & other people around the league second-guessing the move and boy did we see that in Round 2 of the 2020 NFL Draft on Friday night as the Philadelphia Eagles selected Oklahoma QB Jalen Hurts with the 53rd pick.
The reaction to this pick has been very confusing, not sure if they made a mistake or is this a project they will be working on for the future.
One of the reporters on a conference call with Howie Roseman, Doug Pederson & question came up about the current health status of Carson Wentz & Howie Roseman took offense to it
Overall as Howie Roseman stated that this league is driven by the QB and it has shown the last 3 years with the Eagles in the playoffs and Carson Wentz getting hurt & the backup has to come in a big way, example Nick Foles in 2017 as the Eagles took down the Falcons & Vikings and defeated the Patriots to win their first Super Bowl, took down the Bears in the NFC Wildcard in 2018. Josh McCown when Wentz got hurt in the NFC Wildcard loss to Seahawks in 2020.
With the Eagles drafting Jalen Hurts, this is a good thing to develop someone to know the system and also can be a game-changer at any time.
