Minnesota: After taking down the New York Jets last week to Philadelphia Eagles are 3-2 on the season and would go on the road to take on the Minnesota Vikings who were also 3-2 on the season from US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis Minnesota on Sunday afternoon. This would mark the Eagles first visit back to Minnesota since their win over the Patriots in Super Bowl LII.
The Vikings would take apart the Eagles 38-20, here are the good & bad from the game.
Good:
Miles Sanders came to play, what do I mean is the Eagles used him in multiple packages and would make a huge impact, Sanders would score the Eagles first touchdown in the second quarter
TV Call from Kenny Albert of Fox Sports:
The scene at Xfinity Live for Miles Sanders first NFL Touchdown:
Sanders would make a huge play on the Eagles first drive of the second half which got them in position to score a touchdown.
The Reaction at Xfinity Live:
The Eagles would cut into the Vikings lead as Carson Wentz would find Alshon Jeffery
TV Call from Kenny Albert of Fox Sports:
The reaction at Xfinity Live:
This would fall under Good & Bad category as Eagles TE Zach Ertz would make a big play to keep the Eagles drive going in the fourth quarter on fourth down
on the next play, Ertz would make a big catch and then fumble it away and just ruin any momentum the Eagles had in trying to make a comeback.
BAD:
In the second quarter, the Eagles would take a deep shot to the endzone and Nelson Agholor would get interfered and there was no call for defensive pass interference. Eagles coach Doug Pederson would not challenge for defensive pass interference, you look at the play, was their defensive pass interference???
Play in question:
Late in the second quarter, the Eagles would drive down and attempt an FG to get points before the half and knowing they get the ball to start the second half, instead of getting three points, Eagles would run a fake FG and it would not work
Why would you call this???
The Eagles Secondary would get exposed and embarrassed as Rasul Douglas & Sidney Jones would get burned multiple times and Vikings QB would have a career day also Vikings WR Stefon Diggs would score three touchdowns.
Final numbers:
With the Eagles standing at 3-3 on the season, they will need to figure out what went wrong and fast as they head into a division game against the Dallas Cowboys on October 20 from ATT Stadium on NBC Sunday Night Football. The Cowboys would fall to the New York Jets 24-22 and they stand at 3-3 so this game next week will be for first place in the NFC East.
