Record Crowd as USWNT Beats Portugal

Philadelphia: It is exciting when your city gets selected to host an International Friendly and that is what we had on Thursday night as the US Women’s National Team that won the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup took on Portgula from Lincoln Financial Field in South Philadelphia. This was the second game on the USWNT Victory tour for winning the World Cup.

The USWNT would jump all over Portugal as Tobin Heath would get the scoring started in the fourth minute for the 1-0 lead

The USWNT would add to the lead in the 17th minute on a goal from Morgan Brian which made it 2-0.

In the second half, Carli Lloyd would blow the roof off as she would score to make it 3-0

The final goal came from Allie Long as the USWNT takes down Portgual 4-0.

This match had a record attendance of 49,504 which is the largest crowd for an International Friendly for the USWNT.

These same two teams will meet next week in Minnesota on September 3.
