Union takes down DC United on Rivalry Night

Chester PA: It is an exciting time when you get to honor your team history and also keep the push for the Playoffs as the Philadelphia Union took on DC United from Talen Energy Stadium in Chester PA on Saturday night. The Union comes into the game off a bad loss to Chicago on August 17 while DC United made their way to Chester off a loss to Red Bulls on August 21.

The Union would jump on Dc United early in the first half as Kacper Przyblko would get one past the goalie for a 1-0 lead in the 5th minute.

Kacper Przyblko Goal:

The union would add to the lead in the 16th minute on a goal from Brenden Aaronson for the 2-0 lead.Β The goal by Brenden Aaronson would be his 2nd career goal but it would be the first goal he scored at home.

Brenden Aaronson Goal:

Later on, in the first half, the Union would strike for the third time on a goal from llsinho for the 3-0 lead in the 36th minute.

llsinho Goal:

At halftime, The Union would honor their 10 years of being in MLS and had some of the former players would come back and get introduced

In the 2nd Half, the Union would keep the pressure on DC United but DC United would be able to get one past Andre Blake in the 56th minute from Luciano Acosta.

A crowd of 18,781 which was the largest of the season would see the Union take down DC United 3-1 and now are tied for first place with Atlanta United. The Union will play Atlanta United on August 31 at Talen Energy Stadium while DC United takes on Montreal on August 31.
