Philadelphia: Now the All-Star break is over and the 2nd half of the season got started on Friday night as the Philadelphia Phillies took on the Washington Nationals from Citizens Bank Park in South Philadelphia.
The Phillies would lose this game 4-0 and there was only 1 positive from the game happened in the third inning.
With the Phillies down 2-0, The Nationals were looking to add more as Ryan Zimmerman would blast a shot to centerfield and Scott Kingery would make an amazing diving catch and the National would score a run on the play to make it 3-0.
How it sounded on TV & Radio:
Tom McCarthy on NBC Sports Philadelphia:
Scott Franzke on SportsRadio 94 WIP:
“Pivetta not in a great count 2 balls 0 strikes to Ryan Zimmerman, here the pitch, Swung on hit hard to center on the run Kingery to his right he lays out and makes the diving catch… it will score the run as Eaton trouts home but a great grab from Kingery got a terrific jump a full layout for that one in left-center and that is out number two”
This was an amazing play which prevented more damage in the inning.
The Phillies will look to take Game 2 of this series tomorrow at 7:15 PM on Baseball Night in America on FOX as FOX will have Kenny Albert, Joe Girardi on the call.
