Philadelphia: After a dramatic walk-off win by Jay Bruce last night, the Phillies will look for the Series Sweep on Thursday afternoon from Citizens Bank Park in South Philadelphia.
Aaron Nola got the Start for the Phillies and Mets would send Zack Wheeler. Both Pitchers would make the hitters look confused.
The Phillies would strike first in the 6th inning on a solo home run from Bryce Harper for 1-0 lead and boy it was a blast.
The Mets would not go away as Todd Frazier would blast a 2 run HR off Closer Hector Neris which gave the Mets the 2-1 lead and then added a bonus run for a 3-1 lead going to the bottom of 9th.
The Mets would send out their close Edwin Diaz to shut things down and the Phillies would go down that easy as Maikel Franco would launch a 2 run HR which would tie the game at 3.
Franco Ties game at 3:
The Phillies were not done as they would have men on 1st and 2nd and Jean Segura would send everyone home happy and he would blast a three-run Walk-off home run for a 6-3 win and SWEEP the Mets.
Walkoff by Segura:
The HR by Segura was his first career walk-off home run. This would be the Phillies first sweep of the Mets since April 2013, their first 4 game series sweep of the Mets since September 2007 when the Phillies won the NL East by catching the Mets.
Phillies starter Aaron Nola would go 7 innings, 1 hit, 10 strikeouts on 102 pitches while Mets Starter Zack Wheeler would throw 6 innings, 2 hits, 1 run, 7 strikeouts on 107 pitches
The Phillies will now head on the road to play the Marlins while the Mets will try to rebound from this sweep as they host the Braves.
