Big Blow for Saint Joseph’s as Jameer Nelson Jr Decommits

Philadelphia: It has been two weeks since Saint Joseph’s shocked the basketball world in firing head coach Phil Martelli and the fallout from it has not been good and it would get worse on the recruiting side.

On Friday, Saint Joseph’s great Jameer Nelson would post the following about his son Jameer Nelson Jr

Nelson is now the second big name in Philadelphia high school to back out of their commitment to Saint Joseph’s

This one will hurt more as his father is a legend on Hawk Hill as he was on the team that went 30-2 record and an appearance in the Elite 8 in 2004.

The Hawks would name Sixers Assistant Billy Lange as the new head coach on March 28 & there is a press conference set for April 4 at 10AM.  A lot of fans of Saint Joseph’s do not like the choice of Billy Lange and are still upset over how the university handled removing Phil Martelli.

Now the question is can Billy Lange get those recruits to come to hawk hill as they try to move on from Phil Martelli and will the fans get behind Lange, only time will tell.
