Takeaways from Sixers win vs Warriors

Oakland, CA: After laying the smackdown to the Lakers on Tuesday night, the Philadelphia 76ers were ready for another challenge as they took on the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night from Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. The Sixers come into the game with a 33-18 record while the Warriors are hot at 36-14 and on an 11 game winning streak.

The Sixers were looking to do something for the first time since December 31, 2011, and that was beat the Warriors at Oracle Arena, Sixers last win against the Warriors was on March 2, 2013, when the Sixers won 104-97 in Philadelphia.

Below are some takeaways from the Sixers 113-104 win over the Warriors.

Ben Simmons, you’re an All-Star:
Before the game, the NBA would announce that Sixers Ben Simmons would be named to the All-Star Team as a reserve joining Joel Embiid.

Ben Simmons would have a monster game as he would put up 26 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals.

There is a saying that certain players show up for the big games when the bright lights are on and Embiid would have one of those types of games, Embiid would have 26 points, 20 rebounds, and 5 assists.

No Klay Thompson:
The Warriors would not have Klay Thompson in this game

Ben Simmons & Jimmy Butler Connection:
The Connection that Ben Simmons & Jimmy Butler have is something special and it was on full display as in the 4th quarter, Simmons would drive in and throw a behind the back pass to Butler and Butler would connect and get fouled.

What a sequence by Landry Shamet:
In the Second Quarter, you would see one of the amazing sequences by Sixers rookie Landry Shamet as he would run down Golden State Quinn Cook and block his shot and then Shamet would hit 3 pointer and get fouled. What a play by the rookie to make a play on both ends of the floor.

Final Stats:

This was a very impressive performance by the Sixers in taking down the Warriors at Golden State and in the process ending their 11 game winning streak and for those that say the Sixers are not legit contenders in the East well they are.
